See more about this pub on CAMRA's national web site

Large pub that was extensively refurbished late 2013 to become part of the Marston's 'Rotisserie' chain. The Childers offers a clean and modern interior separated into around five areas on three different levels, all of which can be used for dining. Families are welcome with a children's play area. The beers are all provided from Marston's owned breweries, usually Ringwood with normally four cask ales available. There are tables outside for seating in the summer months and smoking allowed on a Heated patio. Food is served at all times, last orders for food is 1 hour before closing time. Historical information: The Flying Childers was owned by Adcock Pacey & Co, Egerton Brewery, Melton Mowbray until about 1919, when ownership passed to Ind Coope of Burton-on-Trent. The pub's name relates to Flying Childers (1715–1741), a famous undefeated 18th-century thoroughbred racehorse. Several other pubs in the UK have this name.
